Neil, "Nicky," MacDonald, a lineman who worked with the various precurser companies to Nova Scotia Power and held various positions with IBEW Local 1928 including President from 1989 to 1993, passed away February 24 at the age of 66. Neil was also the line instructor at NSCC's Marconi Campus for their Utility Lineworker (ULW) program for many years, beginning in 2000, and trained many of the province's current Powerline Technicians. Condolences are extended from all of us at Local 1928 to Neil's family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 26, from 6-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Friday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue.
