IBEW 1928 Celebrates Black History Month

This February, we celebrate the history and struggles of Black Canadians.

As we recognize Black History Month, let us never forget the invaluable contributions made by Black working people to North America’s labor movement.

Standing up against discrimination, they have been on the forefront of the fight for not just civil rights but economic justice as well.

And today, more than ever, Black workers are crucial to building a more robust and bigger IBEW and labour movement in the years to come.

Ending systematic racism is inseparable from the goal of economic justice and the IBEW will remain at the forefront of making real the full promise of democracy.

Our diversity is our strength and our union’s stronger because of it.
