IBEW Local 1928 and Nova Scotia Power  reached an agreement this spring to allow a capped number of apprentices (15) to be sponsored by the Local so that trade hours that Local 1928 members log through term employment with NSP will contribute to their red seal certification. The initial pilot project will run until December of 2017 and the trades that will be sponsored by Local 1928 are: 1) industrial electrician, 2) controls and instrumentation technician, and 3) millwright. You must be both a member of IBEW Local 1928 and a member of the "B" Labour Pool  to apply for sponsorship under this program. Some completed post-secondary education and/or on-the-job experience in a trade area is preferred. The first IBEW-sponsored apprentices will be selected and indentured by June 15th.
